get THIS base. there’s a reason that penultimate classic bong design hasnt changed - and thats because it has always worked and it never needed fixing. the flagship base filter looks incredible - but doesnt really function as well as you’d expect. the flagship dirties quickly which effects the flavor, quality, and longevity of your sessions. the standard beaker shape dirties slower, cleans easier, costs less, and most importantly it smokes the best. only downside - the same issue with all bongs of this design - is the fragile downstem that is liable to stick when you pull the bowl. inexperienced smokers are likely to accidently break it, so it may be worth investing in a replacement for that right away.

I have stayed away from glass bongs for years, after the 2nd or 3rd broke from minor taps or accidents, I just stuck with old reliable/durable plastic/poly ones. After my last Graffix inevitability got to the point where cleaning was no longer an option I decided to give glass another try, glad I did. I just got the standard 16" w/ the Magnetic bowl and couldn't be happier. It has some heft to it, thick glass, quite, smooth, and best of all VERY easy to clean.

This Beaker Base is wonderful - great volume, super thick (20mm) base and spotlessly & easily cleanable. I use filtered ZeroWater and because of the quality of the glass, it is extremely non-porous and the combination resists build up of gunk as well as making cleaning a breeze!!! * Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with silica and boron trioxide as the main glass-forming constituents. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (≈3 × 10−6 K−1 at 20 °C), making them more resistant to thermal shock than any other common glass. Borosilicate glass is also lead and BPA-free, making it perfectly safe for use as drinking glasses. True borosilicate glass is actually safer than tempered soda-lime glass, which is what many companies currently use to make kitchenware.

If you own any Vitae pieces, this classic beaker is a must have. The modular design allows for easy cleaning that doesn’t take a long time. I use a different downstem with it because of personal preference, but you cannot go wrong with this piece.
